NATURE OF PREMISES
Oak Island is a true island and is located near the mainland at Russells Point and is only accessible by water. Provide your own boat or rent a boat from local marinas. There is a built-in 3-stall boat dock at the island. Our private parking area accommodates three cars and you will have access to a mainland boat dock.
Our 1/3-acre island has a sandy swimming beach close to the 3-bedroom, 1 & 1/2-bath summer home. There are 2 covered patios. Furnishings include 3 double beds and 2 single rollaway beds, each with a bedspread, blanket, pillow(s), mattress pad, and a set of bed linens. Please bring your own towels and other necessary linens. There is a ceiling fan in the living room, eating area, and each bedroom. Two portable fans are also provided. The cottage is not air conditioned.
We provide municipal water, an electric range/oven and 2 refrigerators with freezers. We also provide a variety of cooking utensils, pans, tableware and dishes, an electric coffee maker, microwave oven, toaster, vacuum sweeper, and basic supplies for the kitchen & bathrooms. We keep our personal supplies & maintenance equipment in the utility room. We do not provide a television or "Wi-Fi".
RENTAL RATES
No Reservations being accepted for 2024.
$1,614 for a seven day/six night stay, normally Friday through Thursday.
$1,210 for a three day weekend
$218 per day for any add-on days
$290 per weekday for all other rental requests
RENTAL POLICIES
RESERVATION/DAMAGE DEPOSIT
Your desired dates will be reserved upon our receipt of your deposit. We require the equivalent of one half your rental fee as our reservation/damage deposit. The full rental fee must be paid at check-in. Your reservation/damage deposit will be returned to you in a timely manner following your departure and our property assessment.
RESERVATION CANCELLATION
There is a $100 reservation cancellation fee. It will be deducted from your reservation/damage deposit. The remainder will be refunded to you.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE
Arrive between 1:00PM and 5:00PM
Depart between 1:00PM and 5:00PM
One week before your arrival, please let us know what time you expect to arrive. We will meet you and familiarize you with the island premises.
PETS
We realize your pets are a part of your family and they are welcomed on Oak Island with our approval. There is a $50 non-refundable fee for each pet.
FIRES AND OUTDOOR GRILLS
We provide an outdoor charcoal grill and a cast-iron fire pit. Otherwise, open fires and campfires are not allowed. Bring your own grates, pots, pans, and utensils for cooking outdoors. We provide a limited wood supply for the fire pit. Please be sure there are NO HOT EMBERS IN THE FIREPIT AT THE END OF YOUR RENTAL PERIOD. Give them a really good dousing with lake water.
RENTAL PREPARATION, MAINTENANCE, REPAIRS
We reserve the right to access the premises during rental periods as we determine is needed to prepare, maintain, and/or repair the premises. We will try to accommodate your schedule and minimize interruption of your use.
